carnivore diet

Starting Strength Coach Goes Carnivore

Starting Strength Coach Grant Broggi explains why he's doing the carnivore diet, popularized by Shawn Baker, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson, and what he hopes to get out of it.

At the beginning of every New Year people often set resolutions. This is not just in the gym, but for life in general. They have areas in their lives they want improved and often use the turning of the calendar to make a change.

While overall I think you should implement whatever change you feel necessary at the moment you feel it, I understand why the New Year is an attractive time to do it.

For myself (and the lifters I coach), I prefer to present a challenge for the month of January - something harder than I usually do even if it is not a specific area I want to change for the long term.

I have a lot of lifters ask me about the Carnivore diet, especially ones with autoimmune issues. They want to know if you can train hard (progressive overload) and eat only meat, seafood, poultry and eggs.

I have my theories on this based on my readings and own research.  I wanted to know this information for myself. I decided for the month of January to do the Carnivore diet and  20 of the lifters I coach are joining me!

In this week's video I explain why. If this interests you, please give it a watch. We'll do a two week review as well as an end-of-month review when we finish.

Hope it helps! If you have any questions feel free to reply. I have also been posting every single thing I eat on X - if you want to see what this type of diet looks like, give me a follow there.
